Entering The Profession - And Changing The Course

2000-2002: Completed hospital-based radiography program.

2006: Entered midlevel training through Weber State's Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA) program.

2008: Completed 211 college credit hours in radiology-focused care - building expertise strong enough to stand up to legislative scrutiny

Identified a Divided Profession - Brought visability to early RPA-RRA tensions and shaped advocacy with historical insight.

Began State-Level Advocacy - Partnered with mentors to bring clinical expertise into legislative policy.

Provided Early Public Visibility - Used speaking platforms to build transparency and elevate RPA and RRA awareness - Amplifying unity in a divided culture.

Created Early Credentialing Tools - Developed credentialing and Delineation of Privileges (DOP) frameworks that streamlined APP programs and informed legislative strategy.

2010 - 2011

The Pivotal Years - From Locked Out to Leading Change

Co-Founded National Advocacy Society (RPAS)

Launched and led the RPAS to unify RPA representation in state legislation.

Blocked Exclusive Legislation in California

Engaged independent lobbying and secured direct intervention from California Medical Board to stop RRA-only language.

Negotiated Unified Legislative Blueprint

Worked directly with ASRT's CEO to create the model still used in state and MARCA legislation from 2011-2025.

Defining the Playbook for Legislative Wins

2010 - Outcome: Stopped exclusionary precedent and set a state model for united professional advocacy.

Built a Unified Coalition - Co-led RPA groups, technologist, and lobbyists to stop exclusionary SB 848.
Neutralized Opposition - Partnered with lobbyist Kyle Frazier to confront and block RRA-only legislation.
Co-Led a Multi-Professional Coalition - Successfully stopped SB 848, ensuring future bills advanced with unified RRA/RPA language.
Set a State Precedent - Successful future state bills to include both the RRA and RPA language.

2011 - Outcome: Built a sustainable framework for unity that continues to influence legislation more than a decade later.

Launched RPAS - National society formed to protect workforce equity.
Secured California lobbyist - Support to directly address exclusionary language.
Secured Medical Board Intervention - Required both RRA and RPA leadership in legislative talks.
Negotiated Joint Blueprint - Co-created the legislative model still in use for state and MARCA bills today.
Proven Record - RPAS dissolved in documented good faith, with agreement to remain neutral as long as unity language was preserved.
